Student visas are granted to applicants who intend to pursue a course of study in another country. The Embassy will only issue you a student visa upon meeting the admission requirements of the prospective institution and satisfying your visa application eligibility. Please check the requirements below before making appearance at the Embassy or High Commission of the country. Again, note that you may have to satisfy most of the requirements depending on your case and country of residence.
- Completed visa application form
- A valid international traveling passport
- Two recent passport-size photographs
- A letter of acceptance from the admission office
- Other applicable issued documents such as Form 1-20, F-1
- Evidence of financial support during the duration of your studies
- Letter of award from financial aid office (If academic scholarship)
- Letter of award from coaching and athletic department (if athletic scholarships)
- Letter of sponsorship (from family members, corporation, etc.)
- Proof of accommodation
- Transcripts, degrees, TOEFL, SAT, GMAT, GRE or LSAT scores
- Airplane ticket
- Proof of ties to your home country (This is sometimes necessary to show the consular officer that you will return back to your home country after the completion of your studies)
- Police clearance or recent certified criminal check, issued by the police authorities of the place where you reside
- Medical and physical examination report by an authorized physician
- Medical Insurance
- Contact information of person receiving you at the airport
- Visa application fees payable by certified check, bank draft or international money order
